Privacy Policy
Last updated 19 September 2026
This policy explains what personal data Liso ("we", "us") collects when you use Liso — the Liso app for Android and iOS and the Liso website — how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, email us at info@mylisoapp.com.
1. The data we collect
Data you give us
- Account details: your name and email address and, if you add them, your phone number, country code and profile photo. If you sign in with Google, we also store your Google account ID.
- Things you create: notes, prayer requests, plan ratings, and plans you save or add to your cart.
- Messages to us: anything you send us by email.
Data created when you use Liso
- Sign-in codes: the one-time codes we email you to sign in or register. Liso does not use passwords.
- Reading activity: the plans you open, your reading progress, the plans you complete and your in-app notifications.
- Subscriptions and purchases: your subscription tier and its start and end dates, the plans you own, and a record of each payment — the payment method, payment reference, transaction ID, amount and currency. Card and bank details are handled by the payment provider (Paystack, Google Play or the App Store). We never receive or store them.
- App and device data (app only): a push-notification token, the app version, usage events such as the screens you view and the actions you take, crash reports, performance data, and how you came to install the app. Our analytics provider may also record session replays — recordings of how you move through the app's screens.
- Website data: the website keeps your sign-in session and basic profile in your browser's local storage, and may store pages on your device so they load faster. When you read a blog article, we count the view using a one-way code derived from your connection, not your IP address itself.
- Website analytics (only if you agree): we ask before we use any analytics cookies on the website, and we load nothing from Google until you accept. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies on your device and collects the pages you visit, roughly where you are (from your IP address, which Google shortens), and details of your browser and device. We use this to understand how the website is used and to improve it. If you decline, none of it loads and the website works exactly the same. You can change your mind at any time: .
2. How we use your data
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To provide study plans and save your progress, notes and prayer requests.
- To process subscriptions and payments, keep payment records, and prevent fraud and misuse.
- To send you service emails and notifications, such as sign-in codes, subscription confirmations and reminders.
- To understand how Liso is used, fix crashes and improve the service.
- To measure which of our marketing brings people to the app.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We process your data to provide the service you asked for, to meet legal obligations and, for analytics and marketing measurement, because of our legitimate interest in running and improving Liso. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Who we share it with
We use service providers that process data on our behalf:
- Paystack — processes payments made on the website.
- Google Play and Apple's App Store — process purchases and subscriptions made in the app.
- Our email delivery provider — delivers our emails, including sign-in codes.
- Bunny.net — stores and serves images such as profile photos.
- Google Firebase — app analytics, crash reports, performance monitoring, push notifications and in-app messages.
- Google Analytics — website analytics. It reports into the same Google property as the app analytics above, so we can see a single picture across the app and the website.
- Mixpanel — app analytics and session replay.
- AppsFlyer — measures how people find and install the app.
- Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Rhapsody of Realities — provides some study-plan content. When we fetch that content for you, your email address may be included in the request.
- Google Fonts and public content-delivery networks — supply fonts and page scripts for the website and receive your IP address when they do.
We may also disclose data when the law requires it, to protect the safety of people or our rights, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of the service.
4. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than the one you live in. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards they provide for those transfers.
5. How long we keep it
- Account details, notes, prayer requests and reading activity: while your account exists, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Sign-in codes: they expire 10 minutes after they are sent.
- Payment and subscription records: for as long as we need them for accounting, tax, refunds and disputes, including after you delete your account.
- Analytics, crash and performance data: for as long as the provider keeps it under its own policy.
6. Deleting your account and your rights
You can delete your account from your profile. Deleting it immediately removes your account details, sign-in codes, plan ratings and notifications. To have your remaining data removed — notes, prayer requests, reading progress, saved plans and device tokens — email us at info@mylisoapp.com and we will delete it. Payment and subscription records are kept as described above.
Deleting your Liso account does not cancel a subscription you bought through Google Play or the App Store. Cancel it in your store account settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, to object to or restrict some processing, and to complain to your data-protection authority. To make a request, email info@mylisoapp.com from the email address on your account.
7. Children
Liso is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We protect data in transit with encryption (HTTPS), sign-in codes can be used only once, and sign-in sessions expire after 30 days. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that data will never be accessed without permission.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app or by email.
